I was born and raised in a small town called Akranes, Iceland. After studying linguistics for two years, I felt like I needed more creativity in my life. I dropped out of school and got a job at a hair salon. I had honestly never thought of being a hairdresser until I went to Germany in 2006, with my friend. She needed assistance with her box dye and I agreed to apply the colour for her- that’s where the idea sparked!
I graduated hairdressing school in the Christmas of 2009, but earlier that year, I had started dabbling in photography, web development, and graphic design. My then hobby started to become my current career when a hairdressing client of mine saw some of my work and asked me to do print ads for her company. Slowly, I started transitioning from doing hair to doing graphic and web design.
It has always been a dream of mine to live in North America, so in 2013, I hit the jackpot when I met my wonderful Canadian husband and moved with him to Alberta. While living there for a year, I spent a lot of my time teaching myself how to code and would practice my designing skills with various tutorials I found on the internet.
After seeing my work, Joel at iEvolve Designs offered me a job. I love the challenges my job brings me every day and my mission is to make the internet more beautiful with every website I make, along with learning new things and evolving as an individual and with my team.
